The Irene W. and Guy L Anderson Children's
Foundation made grant money available to non-profit groups and
organizations in the Coachella Valley whose purpose is meeting the
unmet needs of the youth of the Coachella Valley.
Grant applications for the 2008 -
2009 grant cycle were reviewed and chosen by a 7 member non-partisan
committee representing, as best as possible, the geographic areas and
ethnic diversities of the Coachella Valley. Project originality and
diversity is considered for a maximum of $50,000.00 and grants for
lesser amounts. Emphasis is placed on programming which focuses on the
unmet needs of Coachella youths.
There were a total of 154 applicants
requesting Grants from the Anderson Children’s Foundation this
year. A total amount of funding requested through the process
was $5,200,000.00. Of these, 40 were selected totaling
$938,000.00 to be distributed.

We would like to congratulate those people and organizations
who received the grants and we are looking forward to working with

all those people who submitted grants. We truly struggle and
agonize during the selection process and we are in sincere
admiration of those who write and submit the proposals. More to
the point, we appreciate your dedication to the children of' the
