About Writing a Grant to Us
The Irene W. and Guy L. Anderson Children's Foundation makes grant money
available to any non-profit group or organization in the Coachella Valley
whose purpose is meeting the unmet needs of the youth of the Coachella
Valley.
These grants award up to $50,000 per
group or organization and are awarded on merit and according to the
guidelines set forth In the grant- application. The funding cycle is from
July to June each fiscal year.
During the funding cycle recipients
will have at least one site visit for project evaluation. The project
evaluation will be based upon the project goals set forth in your
application. Project recipients will be expected to complete a written
final report/evaluation by June 30th of each funding cycle. This is to be
forwarded to the Anderson Children's Foundation.
Some Grant Writing Tips:
 |
Keep it simple...be clear and concise in your
writing. It is not necessary to use excessively descriptive
language or to write to fill up a page. |
 |
Be sure you ask for only what you need. We
review budgets and if it appears that it is "padded" we
will change your budget before offering you funding. |
 |
We are looking for creative solutions to
issues/problems effecting children...so put on your thinking caps!! |
 |
We are sensitive to the diversity of the Coachella
Valley and watch for applications that reflect an understanding of
our cultural, ethnic, socio-economic and geographical differences. |
 |
We really want to know that you have thought about how
you will continue your project when our funding ceases...normally we
only fund a project for 1 year. We are unlikely to fund
projects that do not demonstrate that they have a process in place
to secure future funding. |
 |
Be sure to submit 8 copies of your application as
requested in the directions. You risk having your application
rejected if the 6 copies are not submitted when you apply for
funding. |
